If you have a deadline for your writing, you will get your project finished, even if you have to ask for an extension.

If you don’t have a deadline, you are more likely to procrastinate. A self-imposed deadline can help, but having someone you can be accountable to can be helpful (true in any sphere of life!).

Do you have anyone you are accountable to for your writing project? One of the Write for a Reason students told me that her sister is now going to be on her case when she doesn’t keep to her schedule. What a great idea! Do you have someone you trust who could do that for you? Do you think it would help boost your productivity?

Ultimately we will be accountable to the Lord Jesus for what we have done with the gifts he has given us (remember the parable of the talents?), but having someone else close to us to help us along the way could make all the difference.

Quick tip: Choose someone who will be encouraging but firm! 🙂
