Surprise! Another creative writing tip for you!
That’s not the surprise though . . . after all, you expect these every week. 🙂 Here’s the idea . . . at some point in your story, you need to surprise, or shock, your readers. In fact, you need to keep the shocks and surprises coming all the way through your novel. If your readers are reading along and nothing unexpected happens, your story may be quite interesting, but it won’t have that WOW! factor.
