Hello my Writer Friends,
We all know that if we want to be good writers, we need to read a lot.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know what to read, though, isn’t it?
The best books to read are the ones your target audience love, to make sure they will love yours, too! You can glean so much from doing this. Characters, plot, setting… watch how the author has woven the theme through the story, crafted the beginning and how they have drawn the threads together at the end.
Don’t know what your potential readers will love? Ask them! They might even lend you their favourite books. 🙂
As you are writing with the aim of pointing children to Jesus, it’s also a really good idea to read what’s currently available in the Christian book market, to inspire you.
Christian children’s books can be difficult to find, but if you live in the UK, Dernier Publishing have a current offer of really cheap books, which are perfect for research.

I know you know this, but reading will help you so much with your own stories – probably more than these writing tips! Hehe.
So let me know what you read, and what you gleaned from the stories. Always love to hear from you.
In His service,
Janet
