Why Do You Write?

Dear Writers for a Reason,

As writers, we have many reasons for writing. It’s in our soul! The Lord has given us this gift, and we want to use it.

Of course, we hope that one day our books will get a contract with a big, rich publisher, and our books will go out over all the world…

Perhaps that might happen.

In the meantime, there’s nothing wrong with starting small.

Here’s an idea:

Got a story finished, but it’s locked away on your computer?

While you’re waiting for that publishing contract, why not print it out, get it spiral bound, record yourself reading it out loud, make it into an ebook, read it to your Sunday School kids…

Don’t waste all that hard work!

Start getting your stories into hands and hearts, one at a time.

Every single life is precious. Maybe your story will touch just one young heart. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing? (Especially if it’s your own child, or a grandchild, a godchild, or a niece!)

Isn’t this so much better than keeping your story locked away on your computer, hoping for great things for it?

Perhaps that great thing is that one child.

Let me know what you’re going to do with your finished-but-not-out-there stories – I’d love to hear from you. 🙂

In Christ,

Janet
