3 Great Ideas to Get Your Kids Reading

3 Great Ideas to Get Your Kids Reading

We all know that writers have to be readers. What about encouraging your children to read, so maybe they, too, can be writers one day?

(This could be your own children/grandkids, nieces and nephews, church kids, kids who attend after-school clubs, youth clubs etc.)

Plus, we need to get them away from those screens!

Here are some fun ideas:

1. Visit your local library. Let your kids choose the books that appeal to them. There are often activities for kids, too!

2. Institute a weekly family reading. In-person if possible – online if not! Get some drinks and snacks. Read the same book or read different ones, but have fun together. Discussing your reads will double the enjoyment! If you need Christian books for kids, Dernier Publishing have a fab selection, many of which are also available on Amazon.

2. How about setting up a book club for your kids and their friends? This would work great for after-school clubs and youth clubs, too. Dernier Publishing do discounts for churches.

I look forward to hearing how you’re getting on with your reading events!

Blessings,

Janet

P.S. Today is the deadline for the Write for Life children’s writing competition, so don’t leave it any longer! Love to see those stories. 🙂 Here’s the link to sign up.
