Write at the same time every day – is that even possible?
Here’s the next in the Quick Tip series… and this isn’t for everyone. Some people work shifts, and their lives are never the same one day to the next. Perhaps that’s you?
For some people, a chaotic life is fun, and to be embraced – they love the variety. The thought of being able to write at the same time every day – or even wanting to, might be laughable!
However, certain other people love order, stability, and a sense of knowing that things are not going to change.
Both are right – neither are wrong! They are just different. Different temperaments, and different lifestyles.
But here’s the thing: writing at the same time every day can be hugely beneficial for getting your story done.
Whether it’s ten minutes in the morning, half an hour at lunch time, or for an hour with coffee after dinner every night (that’s what I did when I was writing Year 0033), that automatic habit can help you make sure you don’t get stuck.

Because the longer you leave your story, the harder it is to get back to.
A regular time can be hard to work in your life at the beginning, but like cleaning your teeth, it will soon become a habit… and little by little, your story will take shape, almost on its own!
I hope you find that helpful!
Blessings on your day,
Janet
P.S. Just in case you’re confused about my name – my pen name is J. M. Evans. This was my name before I got married, and I was already writing under this name, so it totally made sense to not make that change for my writing. You can buy the book from any bookshop, including Amazon, or if you are in the UK, direct from the Dernier Publishing website.
