Dear Writers for a Reason,
Over the summer I’ve planned something a bit different – five quick writing tips every week.
I trust you will find these useful! At the end, I might put them all together into one downloadable document – let me know if you think that would be a handy resource.
So without any further ado, here are today’s 5 quick writing tips:
- Write every day if you can, even if it’s only 10-15 minutes. This will keep your story flowing, and always top of mind.
- Write rubbish if you need to, to begin with – you can always improve it, but you can’t edit an empty document.
- Write at the same time every day, if you can, so it becomes a habit you won’t miss. If you tie it to another habit, it helps cement the action. For example, after making your breakfast coffee, you sit down to write.
- Write at other times, too! Enjoy the flexibility and a bit of extra time, whenever you can grab those minutes or hours.
- Have your own writing space where you can write without distraction. It doesn’t have to be a desk – make it your own space where you feel comfortable and at peace with your story. Apparently Mark Twain wrote in bed!
Which of these do you feel is the one you needed most to hear today? Let me know – I always love to hear from you. 🙂
Every blessing,
Janet
